Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team based in Kent (TN12). This is a multi-drop delivery role involving early starts and a variety of routes, primarily across London and the South East. The successful candidate will be comfortable with early morning shifts and occasional Saturday work.
Key Information
- Basic Contract: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Shift Pattern: 4:30 AM starts
- Saturday Work: 1 in 3 Saturdays (paid at weekend overtime rate x1.5)
- Hourly Rate: £17.00 (basic)
Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of Class 2 rigid vehicles
- Multi-drop deliveries and collections of plant and powered access
- Completion of all pre-use vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Accurate completion of delivery paperwork and electronic logging
- Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and condition
- Adherence to all company policies, DVSA regulations, and health & safety procedures
- Excellent customer service when on site
Experience
Essential:
- Full UK HGV Class 2 (C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience
- Good knowledge of London and South East routes
- Excellent safety record and timekeeping
- Ability to work early starts (4:30 AM)
Preferred:
- Powered Access (MEWP) experience – not essential but advantageous for the right candidate
- Experience with tail-lift vehicles
Pay: £17.00-£17.50 per hour
