Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. The main job function is to support the Finance function and the wider business by ensuring the day-to-day transactional activity of the business is up to date, operating smoothly and in compliance with company processes and procedures. This role brings an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues across the whole business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure financial transactions are up to date and accurate.
- Ensure colleagues across the organisation are following company processes and procedures.
- Ensure questions and requests across the business are actioned promptly for smooth operational activity.
- Ensure the financial health of the business by following company credit control policies.
- Assist with group finance requests.
Duties
- Review and enter sales and purchase invoices.
- Communicate and work with colleagues across the whole business to ensure company processes are adhered to.
- Setting up new suppliers on the accounting system.
- Review stock forms and adding to the accounting system.
- Analyse and enter transactions from e-commerce platforms.
- Check and process staff expenses ensuring company policies are adhered to.
- Prepare bi-weekly customer statements and reports.
- Prepare and enter bi-weekly payment runs on the banking system.
- Prepare monthly bank and control account reconciliations.
- Daily credit control monitoring ensuring the timely collection of debt.
- Daily monitoring of the accounts email inbox and respond back to both internal and external emails.
- Assist with delivering group finance requests.
- Assist the Finance team with the preparation of reports.
- Assist with financial requests and enquiries.
- Review and update live finance activity logs.
- Review transactional activity within the accounting system to ensure postings are accurate and kept up to date.
- Assist with finance projects.
- Assist with ad hoc projects across the wider business.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant book keeping / finance assistant experience.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues across departments.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proven ability to continuously meet deadlines.
Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
