Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Physiotherapist to support our healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting qualified physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients across various settings, including hospitals and clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in physiotherapy, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Duties
- Assist qualified physiotherapists in conducting assessments and developing personalised treatment programmes.
- Support patients through mobilisation exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities under supervision.
- Monitor and record patient progress, updating treatment records accurately.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques and post-treatment care instructions.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient documentation.
- Maintain professional knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and current physiotherapy practices to ensure effective support.
Skills
- Prior experience in hospital settings or with paediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in patient care and rehabilitation.
- Organised with the ability to follow detailed treatment protocols accurately.
- Ability to work well within a team environment while demonstrating initiative when required.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support effective assistance during therapy sessions.
