Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant specialising in vintage clothing to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing stock, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. Duties
- Assist with the receipt, inspection, and storage of vintage clothing stock
- Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading items using appropriate equipment
- Operate shelf stackers and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping and receiving purposes
- Organise merchandise to optimise space utilisation
- Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of product condition
- Support shipping and logistics activities, ensuring timely dispatch of orders
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Washing of clothes to prepare for events
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including stock handling and organisation
- Knowledge of forklift operation and mechanical systems is desirable
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Experience in picking & packing orders accurately
- Demonstrated ability to manage stock levels and perform quality control checks
