Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles bulk tippers , to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including bulk tipper trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring on-time pickups and drop-offs
- Secure cargo properly
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients, warehouse staff, and colleagues
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with bulk grain loads and delivery routes
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Ability to communicate with farmers etc
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Good communication skills for clear reporting and customer interactions
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if needed
