Mon-Fri 08.00-18.00 Theatre lists/clinic/ward round AM 08.00-13.00, PM 13.00-18.00
Evenings 18.00-21.30 (Resident on call)
Sat Sun 08.00-14.00 (Resident on call)
The consultant on-call commitment has a regular on-call weekday night of 1 in 8, e.g. alternate Mondays and 1 weekend in 8. On-call activities count for 2 PAs per week: 1PA reflecting the times the consultant is expected to be resident in the hospital as given above and 1PA for unpredictable work when the consultant may be called back to the hospital.

Note: This is only an example job plan, with the successful candidate’s job plan agreed on appointment. The final job plan will be agreed upon with the Clinical Leads and is subject to annual review. There may be opportunities for additional PAs or private practice, subject to Trust policy and divisional requirements.
On-call arrangements
The post includes participation in the on-call rota. Frequency and category of on-call duties will be agreed as part of the job plan. Appropriate support and rest arrangements are in place in line with national guidance.
