Deputy Manager - Care Home Job Opportunity
Woodlea Care Home is seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of our residential care home. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or Deputy Manager looking to progress their career within the health and social care sector.
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care whilst maintaining compliance with CQC standards and promoting a positive, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
About the Role
The successful Deputy Manager will play a key leadership role, helping to ensure the home operates efficiently and continues to provide outstanding care for our residents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Home Manager with the daily operation of the care home
- Leading, mentoring and motivating care teams
- Ensuring high standards of person-centred care are maintained
- Assisting with staff supervision, recruitment and training
- Supporting medication management and clinical governance processes
- Maintaining compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies
- Conducting care plan reviews and audits
- Managing occupancy, resident admissions and family relationships
- Acting as Home Manager in their absence
- Promoting a positive culture focused on dignity, respect and wellbeing
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working within a residential or elderly care setting
- Experience supervising or managing care staff
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and care home compliance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Passion for delivering outstanding care
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or willingness to work towards
- Experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Care Assistant
- Medication administration training
