About the role
Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for delivering vital infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards? Balfour Beatty is looking for an exceptional Agent to lead a multi-disciplinary team across key highways maintenance activities, including structural patching, hand patching, surface treatments, and road marking works.
This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in keeping communities connected while leading high-performing teams on a major infrastructure contract.
What you'll be doing
As Agent, you'll be the driving force behind successful project delivery. Acting as the key link between planning, permitting, engineering, commercial and operational teams, you'll ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You'll:
- Lead and inspire a team of supervisors and operational staff
- Drive a strong safety culture with an unwavering commitment to Zero Harm
- Manage programmes, resources, traffic management, permits and road space requirements
- Coordinate multiple workstreams to ensure seamless delivery across the network
- Monitor productivity, quality and commercial performance against key KPIs
- Work closely with local authorities, utilities, clients and stakeholders to keep projects moving
- Support innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all works are fully evidenced, compliant and successfully handed over
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a confident and proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Significant experience managing multi-disciplinary teams on highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of pavement construction, surfacing, maintenance and utility interfaces
- Experience managing programmes, resources and subcontractors
- Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on budget and to programme
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and reporting capability
- SMSTS qualified
- CSCS Card holder
- Full UK Driving Licence
