As Deputy Team Leader you’ll play a key role in driving team performance, supporting operational excellence, and leading strategic initiatives. You’ll work closely with the IBA Client Money Team Leader and IBA Manager to drive a high-performing, engaged team while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and compliance with internal processes.
The activities outline below relate to the reconciliation and payment of insurer accounts and all adhoc duties as required. Contribution to a rhythm of working that embeds the team culture and constantly use this platform to help in overall staff development. Ensure excellent attention to detail in all tasks and objectives set by line manager.
Team Development & Leadership
- Support the development and performance of team members through:
- Regular 1:1s
- Mid-year and annual performance reviews
- Coordinating and delivering engaging team sessions
- Supporting development, performance reviews, and attendance plans
- Promote career progression aligned with the skills and behaviour matrix
- Set a positive tone through clear communication and consistent leadership
- Lead by example, using coaching techniques to inspire and guide the team
Attendance & TR Support
- Manage staff attendance processes, including:
- Holiday bookings
- Sickness reporting and liaison
- Return-to-work interviews
- Monitoring and addressing lateness
- Support recruitment activities:
- Screening and interviewing candidates
- Liaising with candidates and recruitment agencies
- Managing recruitment documentation
Operational Oversight
- Authorise BACS payments to clients, insurers, and brokers, including managing split authorisations
- Prepare and deliver monthly KPI reports with detailed analysis to management
- Take ownership of senior-level projects and provide regular updates
- Conduct process reviews and assist with implementing new or updated procedures
- Provide cover for stats production and month-end data reporting
Financial & Compliance Support
- Ensure compliance with client money processes and CASS regulations
- Assist with onboarding and runoff of new broker migrations
- Liaise with teammates, peer groups, insurers and reporting lines to maintain strong relationships
Broker Engagement & Representation
- Represent the team and company with professionalism and integrity
- Actively promote a culture of development, collaboration, and continuous improvement

- Maintain high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in all interactions
- Uphold company values and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture
Essential:
· Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Previous management position and experience
· Experience initiating process improvements.
Desirable:
· Understanding of FCA regulations
· Proficient in operating Acturis broking system
· Previous accounting and/or insurance experience
