The Role
We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract to support the smooth running of our sales ledger and invoicing processes.
This role is key to ensuring customer invoices are raised accurately and on time, supporting internal teams with sales transactions, and helping to resolve invoicing queries efficiently. You’ll also play an important part in supporting credit control activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
Working closely with the Finance Operations Manager and wider teams including Customer Services, you’ll help ensure strong financial processes that support cash flow and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Invoicing
- Raise accurate sales invoices in line with delivery documentation and customer orders
- Produce consolidated invoices for key accounts where required
- Maintain customer ledger accounts, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date
Query Resolution & Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with the Customer Services Team to resolve order or delivery-related queries
- Handle customer queries via email and telephone in a professional and timely manner
- Build strong working relationships across sales, operations and finance teams
Credit Control Support
- Assist with the collection of outstanding debts by providing supporting documentation and tracking progress
- Highlight discrepancies or issues affecting cash collection
Reporting & Administrative Support
- Support the Finance Operations Manager by pulling invoice and customer data for reporting and analysis
- Provide general finance and administrative support as required
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in a finance function
- Processing sales invoices and managing customer queries
- Comfortable using finance systems and managing data
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- AAT qualification or part-qualified
- GCSEs A–C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
