Overview
Join our team as a Gatehouse Security Officer and become the first line of defense in safeguarding and the customers lorries and containers. In this vital role, you will oversee access control at the gatehouse, monitor security systems, and ensure a safe environment for everyone on site. Duties
- Maintain detailed logs at gatehouse, manage entry barrier and log in lorry registration, container number and trailer number
- Verifying credentials of lorry drivers and checking paperwork
- Conduct surveillance using CCTV cameras to monitor activity around the premises and identify potential security threats
- Perform regular patrols of the gatehouse area and surrounding perimeter to ensure security integrity
- Respond promptly to security alarms or incidents, coordinating with emergency responders when necessary
- Provide first aid assistance when required and assist visitors or staff with directions or inquiries
Skills
- Be competent using a computer and familiar with the Excel worksheet
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems effectively
- Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations using first aid procedures
- Clear communication skills for interacting professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency responders
- Familiarity with security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations
- Ability to remain alert during long shifts while maintaining a positive attitude

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
