Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker/Support Worker to join our team. Duties
- Deliver personalised care and support to residents, respecting their individual needs and preferences
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Develop, review, and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior management or healthcare professionals
- Encourage social engagement and participation in activities to promote mental and physical wellbeing
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Support residents with medication administration as per prescribed instructions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in a care home or senior care environment with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate team members
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
- Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents outside the care setting or attending appointments
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory standards within adult social care
- Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
