We provide information, advice and guidance to children, adults and family members living in Telford on a range of topics.
On behalf of funders and through donations we deliver: -
- The all aged Family Carers Service including respite activities for children and adults to have a break from their caring role
- A weekly youth club for children aged 5-18
- A community café providing bespoke work placements for people furthest away from the job market
- Telford’s SENDIASS for children with a special educational need and their parents seeking support with education, health and care
- Telford Autism Hubs for children and adults living with autism in Telford
- A programme for adults with a learning disability to increase their health inequalities including access to employment
- Wellbeing Independence Partnership service supporting adults with access to health and social care community based solutions
- An Independent Living Centre supporting access to services for people to live well closer to home
We work alongside many partners across the voluntary and community sector, with statutory partners in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS and Telford and Wrekin Council and Midland Partnerships Foundation trust. About the Job
Post Title: Finance Assistant
Responsible To: Senior Manager - Finance
Job Purpose:
The Finance Assistant will: -
- Provide a comprehensive and professional finance and accounting service to the organisation
- Work in partnership with staff across all departments to provide support and advice on financial matters
- To assist the Senior Manager - Finance in both the financial and non-financial aspects of the role
It is important that the post holder is able to exercise initiative, work conscientiously and respect the confidentiality of information relating to clients and staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices in line with Telford & Wrekin CVS financial policies and procedures
- Administer and account for Petty Cash and company credit cards
- Assist with bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
- Assist with the monthly payrolls for both Telford & Wrekin CVS and client payrolls
- Undertake regular banking of cash takings in line with financial procedures Answering the main phone line when necessary
- Ordering items across TWCVS services
- To carry out other duties from time to time as appropriate
Telford and Wrekin CVS operates a friendly, informal team. However, we aim to maintain the highest standards of service and efficiency.
Support, supervision and training, where necessary, will be provided.
Qualifications / Experience
Evidence of a solid general education is required together with GCSE A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent in English Language and Maths. AAT Level 3 (or equivalent). Strong Excel skills and be willing to continually embrace technological change to ensure efficiency. Knowledge of Sage Accounts is highly desirable but not crucial.
