About Us
The Governing Board of Davison CE High School are looking for an efficient administrator to support our governing body. The successful applicant will play a vital role in organising our governing body meetings, keeping an accurate record of their work and keeping governors up to date with changes in legislation and government guidance, plus advising on governance issues.
Duties of the role will include collating and distributing agendas and documentation prior to meetings, taking minutes and providing typed copies in a timely fashion. For a full list of duties please refer to the accompanying job description.
The post is a term time only position which will involve clerking 6 Full Governing Body meetings and 6 sub-Committee meetings over the year, for which the post holder will be paid five hours per week on a monthly basis (to a basic total of 195 hours per annum to include support work and ongoing training). The Clerk may be required to attend school or training venues at other times, eg. Ad-hoc meetings, introductory training and during Ofsted inspections, for which additional hours will be paid.
The required hours of work outside of the main meetings, eg to prepare or to type up minutes, may be worked flexibly either in school or at home. This is an important role for Davison and therefore the Clerk, although being an appointment of the Full Governing Board, would be considered part of the wider Support Staff within the school.

Salary: £27,254 - £29,540 p.a. pro rata (Actual salary £3,102 - £3,362 p.a.)

What You Need to Succeed
The Governing Board are looking for someone with strong clerical and administrative skills, experience of formal meetings and minute taking and who has excellent communication and organisational skills. The Clerk is expected to undertake appropriate training and learn about the law and the responsibilities of governors, as well as being confident to advise them correctly.
