We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our growing electrical wholesale business.
This is a hands-on role dealing with electricians, contractors, trade customers and suppliers on a daily basis. You will be serving customers on the trade counter, processing orders, preparing collections, checking stock and helping with the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.
This role is suitable for someone who has previous experience working in an electrical wholesaler or electrical supplies environment. Electrical wholesale experience and electrical product knowledge are required for this position.
We are looking for someone who is confident with trade customers, organised, reliable and able to use their own initiative.
Main Duties
- Serving electricians, contractors and trade customers at the counter
- Dealing with customer enquiries face to face, over the phone and by email
- Processing sales orders, quotes, payments and customer collections
- Checking stock availability and offering suitable alternatives where needed
- Preparing customer orders accurately for collection or delivery
- Helping customers with electrical product enquiries
- Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
- Supporting sales and helping grow repeat business
- Keeping the trade counter clean, organised and well presented
- Checking stock levels and helping with stock control
- Assisting with deliveries, supplier collections and general branch duties
- Using computer systems to process orders, invoices and stock checks
- Opening and closing the branch when required
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in electrical wholesale is required
- Good knowledge of electrical products is required
- Trade counter sales experience is strongly preferred
- Confident dealing with electricians, contractors and trade customers
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Comfortable using computers, order systems and point-of-sale systems
- Good attention to detail when processing orders and checking stock
- Sales-focused with a positive and helpful attitude
- Willing to take responsibility and support the day-to-day running of the counter
- A full UK driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve occasional local deliveries, supplier collections or customer visits
