Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to delivering person-centred care. Previous experience in care environments or home care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting individuals with mobility and daily activities in accordance with their care plans
- Administering medication as directed and maintaining accurate records
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
- Helping clients with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
- Assisting with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Communicating effectively with clients, family members, and the wider healthcare team
- Following health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure environment for clients and staff
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to build rapport with clients and demonstrate empathy
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and updating care plans
- Driving licence (desirable) for roles involving home visits or travelling between locations
- Knowledge of care home procedures or home care services (nice-to-have)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Organised approach to managing tasks efficiently within busy environments
