We have a rare opportunity for a chef to join our friendly, hardworking team at a busy contract catering site in Burnley.

Rising to £14.50 per hour following successful completion of your 3-month probation and all mandatory training.
Equivalent to approximately £21,840 per year initially, rising to approximately £22,620 per year, based on 30 paid hours per week.
THE HOURS ARE FRIENDLY. THE SERVICE IS FULL-ON!
Our site serves approximately 350 covers every day, so this isn't a role for someone looking for a quiet kitchen.
When service starts, we're busy.
You'll be joining a team of 8 and working alongside our Chef Manager and Breakfast Chef to produce fresh, varied and well-balanced food for our customers.
We're looking for another chef who enjoys being part of a busy service, takes pride in what goes over the counter and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
THE ROLE
You'll help us:
- Prepare and cook fresh food for a high-volume service
- Produce varied, well-balanced and nutritious meals
- Develop new dishes and contribute ideas to our menus
- Work creatively within a tight contract catering budget
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
- Follow recipes and portion controls
- Minimise food waste and make sensible use of ingredients
- Keep preparation and service organised during busy periods
- Support the wider kitchen team when needed
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of contract catering experience.
You may currently work in a restaurant, pub, hotel, school, care setting or another busy catering environment.
What matters to us is that you're a chef who enjoys food.
We'd love to meet someone who:
- Has genuine professional kitchen experience
- Is confident preparing and cooking food from fresh ingredients
- Can work efficiently during a high-volume service
- Is reliable and organised
- Has good food safety and allergen awareness
- Understands portion control and the importance of managing costs
- Enjoys contributing ideas rather than simply following instructions
- Works well as part of a close-knit team
- Can work hard while still enjoying being part of a fun kitchen
WHY CONSIDER CONTRACT CATERING?
We know chef wages can sometimes be higher in restaurants, pubs and hotels.
But those roles can also mean evenings, late finishes and weekends.
Here you'll have a predictable working week:
Start at 7am.
Finished by 2pm Monday–Thursday.
Finished by 11am Friday.
Every weekend off.
For the right person, that's worth a lot.
We want to find a great chef who enjoys cooking, understands a busy kitchen and will become part of our team.
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Discounted or free food
- Free parking
- On-site parking
