Cargo Bike Delivery Rider – Part-Time / Self-Employed Bud Couriers – Newcastle upon Tyne Pay: £12.71 per hour Bud Couriers is looking for reliable, energetic riders to join our small delivery team in Newcastle. We deliver baked goods, food, parcels and other supplies for brilliant local businesses using cargo bikes and trailers. The work is active, varied and ideal for someone who enjoys cycling, working independently and being out around the city. The role - Making scheduled deliveries across Newcastle by cargo bike - Collecting from bakeries, kitchens and other local businesses - Loading and securing orders carefully - Following a planned route and keeping customers updated - Looking after the bike and reporting any mechanical issues - Representing Bud in a friendly and professional way Most shifts start early in the morning, often at around 6:30am, and usually finish by late morning or lunchtime. Hours will vary depending on the delivery schedule, so some flexibility is helpful. You don’t need previous cargo bike experience—we can provide training. However, you must be a confident cyclist and comfortable riding in traffic and in different weather conditions. We’re looking for someone who is - Reliable and punctual - Confident cycling around Newcastle - Physically fit enough for an active role - Careful with food, cakes and fragile deliveries - Friendly and comfortable dealing with customers - Able to follow routes and instructions independently - Flexible when deliveries or timings change - Responsible and willing to look after the equipment Delivery, courier, hospitality or customer-service experience would be useful, but attitude and reliability matter most. Group interview Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a relaxed group interview and practical session. This will give you the chance to meet us, learn how Bud operates and find out what the work is actually like. The session may include: - An introduction to Bud and the rider role - A group discussion - A few simple delivery scenarios - A chance to see and try our cargo bikes - A short individual conversation with James You do not need to prepare a formal presentation. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for being outside and bring anything needed to show that you are eligible to work in the UK.
