Primarily, the role will require the management of ESA Iris programmes. The role is multifaceted and will involve working with numerous partners across the satellite based air traffic ecosystem of companies including communication service and distribution partners, avionics suppliers, airframe manufacturers, air navigation service providers and key technology developers.

This will involve a team of sub-project managers leading different project elements, both internal and with external supplier and partners, to deliver to the defined schedule and budget.
- Working closely with end customers at a senior level. This includes reporting overall program progress and acting as a point of contact for customer concerns.
- Working with and managing a number of program partner and suppliers to ensure a coordinated program and seamless delivery against program commitments.
- Bringing technical knowledge and experience to provide leadership that helps program authorities make pragmatic solutions trade-offs. These trade-offs consider schedule, budget, risk, and quality impacts.
- Distil complex technical concepts into succinct and crisp presentations for internal and external senior leadership, to help instil confidence in program progress and solutions sufficient to allow them to make informed decisions.
- Support the business development team as required to deliver customer solutions.
- Engage with telecoms and aerospace regulatory bodies as needed to push and support Viasat’s agenda.
Frequent global international travel may be required to support the above activities.
