Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our unique niche cafe team in delivering exceptional traditional and local food. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Lead and motivate the cafe team to maintain high standards of performance, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Develop and implement menu concepts that reflect current trends whilst catering to customer preferences.
- Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to across the kitchen.
- Oversee food production processes, including ordering supplies, inventory management, and cost control.
- Train staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to uphold health and safety standards.
- Innovate new dishes and improve existing recipes to enhance the overall dining experience.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy farm cafe or hospitality environment.
- Extensive background in food production, and kitchen management.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and creative cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with operations of a farm cafe including serving procedures and customer service excellence.
- Previous hospitality or culinary experience at a senior level is highly desirable.
