Responsibilities and Requirements
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks and tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely from various locations.
- Working in a 24 Hour Business covering shifts including early and lates, with some weekends too.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after recovery to assess damage and ensure proper handling.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with recovery equipment or vehicles during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and emergency responders to coordinate recovery operations smoothly.
- Follow all safety protocols and driving regulations to maintain a secure work environment at all times.
- Maintain accurate logs of recoveries, routes taken, and vehicle conditions for record-keeping purposes.
- Assist in yard activities or other business duties as needed.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating large vehicles. Class 2 license as a Minimum, held for two years and to be 25 years of age and over for insurance purposes.
- Experience with flatbed or heavy-duty trucks is highly desirable.
- Previous warehouse or yard experience is a plus, demonstrating organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure and stay calm.
- Be comfortable working in all conditions, weather, roadside, motorways.
- Be comfortable using an APP system for recovery jobs.
- Be an overall team player.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
