Person In Charge – New Independent Licensed Coffee Shop
We are an exciting new independent licensed coffee shop opening in April, focused on great coffee, quality food and a relaxed atmosphere where customers can enjoy coffee by day and licensed beverages in the evening. We are looking for an enthusiastic Experienced Barista to join us at launch and help build a welcoming café culture and strong local customer base.
Role Overview, you will work closely with the Owner to support the day-to-day running of the café, helping to create a high-quality customer experience from opening day onwards and run a team. This is a hands-on role where you will help lead the team, support operations, and ensure the café runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Opening & Operations
* Support the launch and daily operation of the coffee shop.
* Assist with opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure the café maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation.
* Help manage stock levels, deliveries, and supplier orders.
Team Support
* Train and supervise staff.
* Lead shifts and support the team during busy periods.
* Promote a positive, team-focused work environment.
Customer Experience
* Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
* Build relationships with regular customers and help create a welcoming community atmosphere.
* Handle customer feedback and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
Licensed Premises Responsibilities
* Ensure responsible service of alcohol in line with licensing laws.
* Follow Challenge 25 / ID verification policies.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety standards.
Financial Duties
* Assist with cash handling and daily till reconciliation.
* Support sales targets and help identify opportunities to grow the business.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in hospitality, café, or bar management.
* Barista experience is essential.
* Experience supervising or leading staff is essential.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Passion for coffee, hospitality, and independent businesses.
