Position: Business Development Manager (Full – time)
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Business Development Manager to join our well-established restaurant in Canterbury. Working closely with restaurant directors and managers, you will play a key role in helping the business grow, building strong relationships with customers and identifying new opportunities to increase revenue. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing partnerships, supporting sales and marketing activities. You will also be confident in analysing sales and marketing data, spotting trends, measuring the success of campaigns and contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, including corporate catering, events, partnerships, and delivery channels.
- Manage sales opportunities from prospecting through to conversion.
- Achieve agreed sales and revenue targets.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, corporate clients, and business partners.
- Develop customer retention initiatives to encourage repeat business.
- Generate and analyse sales reports to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Sales reporting to Directors on a monthly basis.
Marketing & Brand Support
- Support marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Promote brand awareness through partnerships, events, and community engagement.
- Ensure customer communications align with brand standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with restaurant management and operational teams.
- Represent the business at networking events and industry functions.
- Develop relationships with local businesses and community organisations.
Commercial Performance
- Monitor sales performance and contribute to revenue forecasting.
- Support contract negotiations and commercial agreements.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through upselling and business growth initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in business development, sales, account management, or commercial roles within hospitality, restaurant, catering, or food service sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating business growth.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
- Experience using sales reporting tools.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
