Bar Supervisor / Duty Bar Person (Part-Time)
Ivy Lane Cocktail Bar – Torquay
Permanent Part-Time Position | 10.5 Hours Per Week
We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and trustworthy Bar Supervisor / Duty Bar Person to join our close-knit team at Ivy Lane Cocktail Bar.
This is an important role within our business, working alongside another member of staff to safely close the venue on our busiest nights. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
Hours
- Friday: 10:00pm – 1:30am
- Saturday: 10:00pm – 1:30am
- Some Sundays: 4:00pm – 7:30pm
Total: Approximately 10.5 hours per week
This is a permanent position and would suit someone looking for a second job alongside other employment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for helping to supervise the bar during the final hours of service and ensuring the venue is closed down efficiently and securely. Duties include:
- Supervising the bar team during closing shifts
- Cashing up and end-of-night reconciliation
- Closing the premises safely and securely
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness
- Changing beer and cider barrels
- Cleaning draught lines
- Stock control and assisting with stock takes
- Preparing the bar for the following day’s service
- Supporting the team wherever needed
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working behind a busy bar
- Experience in a supervisory or keyholder role
- Trustworthy, reliable and able to work independently
- Confident handling cash and completing end-of-day procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Desirable (but not essential)
- Cocktail-making experience (full training can be provided)
- Knowledge of EPoS till systems
- Experience carrying out stock takes
- Experience changing barrels and cleaning beer lines
