At nofilter coffeehouse and bistro, we do things a little differently. We’re not just slinging lattes and avocado toast (though we do that exceptionally well). We're a vibrant, independent bistro and coffee bar serving up scratch-made, soul-satisfying food with an American heart and French and English flair.
We’re on the lookout for a Sous Chef who can bring their passion, skills, and creativity to our kitchen—
About the Role:
*As our Sous chef, you'll be the right hand to our Executive Chef—and the captain of the ship when they're off duty.
* You’ll keep the kitchen running like clockwork while still delivering the highest quality dishes.
You’ll be expected to:
* Lead the kitchen during solo shifts or when the Executive Chef is away
* Consistently produce our menu of made-from-scratch favourites—think buttermilk pancakes, hash browns, American biscuits, cakes, bakes and more
* Work with a variety of ingredients: from baking and curing meats to crafting satisfying vegan options
* Uphold high standards of kitchen hygiene, prep, and organisation
* Collaborate seamlessly with our friendly front-of-house team
*Get stuck in creatively—your ideas are always welcome!
*What We’re Looking For:
*Experience working in a fast-paced, made-from-scratch kitchen environment
*Confident with baking bread, curing meats, and preparing vegan/vegetarian dishes
*A genuine love of cooking and a curiosity for American cuisine with European twists
*Someone who’s professional, friendly, and thrives in a collaborative setting
*A creative thinker who's also reliable, willing to learn, and up for a challenge
