The purpose of the role is to ensure that the customer receives a high-quality product in line with process and product specification. The role will support all stages of the manufacturing process, where appropriate but will primarily be focused on undertaking NDT and metrology activities in accordance with health and safety regulations and process instructions and providing expert advice and guidance in respect of NDT documentation, procedures and processes.

Responsibilities:
- Safety – to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and in line with instructions
- Quality – to conduct NDT and scanning activities to the required specification and to complete accurately and timely all associated documentation.

- Continuous Improvement – to maintain and further develop NDT skills and knowledge; to suggest and investigate opportunities for improvement and be adaptable to change.
Tasks:
- Visual and manual dimensional inspection
- Ultrasonic NDT inspection activities in accordance with approved techniques
- To develop and write new NDT technique sheets for approval by the RL3
- Ensuring activities are undertaken in compliance with internal and customer NDT processes.
- Management of NDT inspection assets such as reference pieces, consumables and equipment
- To assist with new measurement methodology and processes, obtaining approval from NDT Responsible Level 3 and or Head of Quality, where needed.
- To mentor and train colleagues in the attainment of skills via on-the-job training or off site if necessary.
- To verify and countersign NDT activities undertaken by colleagues during the training phase, within limitations of level 1.
- To have technical knowledge of and able to competently perform technical measurement activities including CMM and Creaform 3D scanner.
