We are looking for a friendly, outgoing and reliable person to join our busy team at the Yealmpton Farm Shop. This is a flexible role and will include both the retail shop and the deli counter and cafe, so the right person will need to be adaptable and up for a challenge.
Fantastic customer service is our priority, so you will be outgoing and friendly as well as efficient, fast and accurate and keen to go the extra mile to ensure customers have a great experience. As part of the retail team you will replenish shop displays, keep the shelves and fridges looking good, ensure the shop and public areas always look inviting, clean and tidy. In the cafe team you will serve customers at the deli or cafe, learn to make barista coffees, give friendly and efficient table service, cleaning and dish washing as well as the essentials of food hygiene.
You’ll need to take the time to learn about our ethos as well as our products and you’ll share your enthusiasm for great food and produce with our customers. As we are a small team we all need to be flexible and muck in with whatever tasks need to be done.
Previous retail or hospitality experience is not essential as training will be given, but is certainly an advantage. An interest in food and fresh produce is important, as is having a great way with customers and the ability to work well with a team.
Hours of work will be approximately 14 hours per week over 2 days, including regular weekend working. Additional hours may be available from time to time. Shifts will vary but could start from 8.30am and finish times could be up to 6pm, so flexibility is essential.
