Training and support is provided whilst we develop your existing skills and knowledge in each aspect of the Perioperative environment.

Provide high-quality, safe and effective nursing care within the operating theatre environment
Work as part of the multidisciplinary theatre team supporting elective and emergency surgery
Maintain aseptic technique and comply with infection prevention and control policies
Prepare theatre environments, equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures
Assist surgeons and anaesthetists, anticipating clinical needs during procedures
Complete accurate documentation, including WHO surgical safety checklists
Ensure safe management of instruments, swab counts, equipment and medications
Contribute to a safe, efficient and well-organised theatre service
Support students, new staff and contribute to a positive learning environment
Participate in audit, quality improvement and service development activities
Maintain NMC registration and adhere to Trust policies and professional standards
Engage in mandatory training, appraisal and ongoing professional development
Work flexibly, including on-call duties, weekends and nights as required by the service
