We are seeking a motivated and energetic Retail Shop Assistant/Bench Hand Locksmith to join our dynamic team. This role combines customer service excellence with practical locksmith skills, supporting our shop operations and assisting with locksmith tasks. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their locksmith needs, providing clear product information and advice
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing stock displays and ensuring the shop is tidy and inviting
- Handle inbound customer inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with basic locksmith tasks such as key cutting, lock repairs, and small installations at the bench or on-site
- Upsell relevant products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks, ensuring smooth shop operations and prompt service delivery
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, stock levels, and customer interactions for organizational efficiency
Requirements
- Fluency in English;
- Strong communication skills with an energetic approach to customer engagement
- maths skills for handling transactions and measurements accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock, tools, and customer requests efficiently
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create attractive product displays
- Experience or interest in locksmithing is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for technical tasks
- practical tasks including learning how to cut keys
