Cable Stores Operative
12-week fixed-term contract | Evesham
Woodlands Power is looking for a reliable and practical Cable Stores Operative to join our Evesham depot on a 12-week fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced operation supporting the cable stores and yard.

CONTRACT
Full-time, 12-week fixed-term appointment
HOURS
Monday to Thursday, 8.00 am-4.30 pm; Friday, 8.00 am-3.30 pm
PAY
Based on relevant experience and paid fortnightly
OVERTIME
Paid overtime may be available and must be agreed in advance
HOLIDAY
Paid holiday worked out pro rata for the 12-week contract
What you'll do
- Prepare cable for outbound jobs and inspect cable returned from jobs.
- Oversee and support daily yard and stores activity, including the organisation of tools, equipment and cable stocks.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy and well-organised working environment.
- Book equipment in and out accurately and keep records up to date.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damage or missing items.
- Complete paperwork, checklists and delivery records correctly and promptly.
- Raise operational concerns and suggest practical improvements where appropriate.
What we're looking for
- A reliable, safety-conscious person who can follow instructions and safe systems of work.
- Someone comfortable with practical, repetitive work and the safe handling of cable and related equipment.
- Good attention to detail, basic numeracy and the ability to keep simple and accurate records.
- The ability to work independently when needed and communicate well with colleagues and supervisors.
- Previous experience in a depot, yard, warehouse, cable or electrical-equipment environment would be useful.
- A current forklift licence would be useful but is not essential.
- A practical understanding of temporary-power equipment and electrical cable would be useful but is not essential.
