Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of buildings. Duties
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine project requirements.
- Install new roofs using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components efficiently and safely.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and secure roofing materials.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed for customised or specialised roofing solutions.
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof structures, including framing and support systems.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely across job sites.
- utilise plumbing and masonry skills for integrated roofing systems where applicable.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure working environment for oneself and colleagues.
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure all tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, or plumbing is preferred.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings is advantageous.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on ladders or scaffolding.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and practices.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in executing complex tasks accurately.
- Physical fitness to undertake demanding manual labour in various weather conditions.
