Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Night Driver to operate from Kirkby. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and safely during night shifts, ensuring timely and professional service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with flatbed vehicles, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards throughout their shift.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 lorries during night hours, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, with particular attention to flatbed operations
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional manner when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a secure working environment
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with Class 1 vehicles
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with flatbed transportation and securing loads effectively
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving (Class 1) is essential
- Good knowledge of local routes around Kirkby and surrounding areas is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to operate safely during night shifts, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
