The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. You will deliver proactive and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on electrical systems, while supporting continuous improvement, planned maintenance, and rapid resolution of equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely and in line with all SHE procedures, policies, and work instructions.
- Diagnose and repair faults (particularly electrical) to minimise downtime and ensure safe reinstatement.
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Support and improve the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Install, commission, and modify machinery and systems as required.
- Apply Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to drive efficiency and quality.
- Maintain accurate logs, shift handovers, and maintenance reports.
- Carry out a range of electrical tasks including:
- Sensor replacement and calibration
- Low-voltage repairs (plugs, fuses, lights)
- Breaker resets and electrical fault tracing
- Adjustments to camera and vision systems (e.g. Barco)
- Disconnecting/reconnecting plug-in motors under local isolation
- Support mechanical maintenance tasks as part of a flexible, multi-skilled team.
- Participate in improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and site initiatives.
- Support and oversee contractors to ensure safe and compliant work.
- Maintain accurate records and support audit and regulatory compliance.
About You
Essential
- Time-served engineer with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and root-cause analysis skills (electrical focus)
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Able to read electrical and mechanical technical documents
- Confident working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Comfortable using CMMS systems and basic IT tools (e.g. MS Office)
- Experience with automation, sensors, or control systems (advantageous)

- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
