Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of machinery and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery using schematics and technical manuals
- Diagnose mechanical problems accurately and efficiently
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly and repair tasks
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate repairs
- Carry out equipment repair and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency
- Assist with the installation of new parts or systems as required
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy components
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and recommendations clearly
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of vehicle systems
- Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle types and machinery
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
- Strong maintenance skills with the ability to troubleshoot effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential
Hours of work
Monday - Friday 8.15am - 17.15pm
Salary negotiable dependant on experience
