Are you a passionate and skilled RVN looking for a rewarding career in a supportive, independent practice?
We believe RVNs are essential clinical professionals—not support staff. We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive nurse who wants to fully utilise their skills, grow in their role, and be genuinely valued in a supportive, team-led practice.
As part of our team, you’ll have the freedom to carry out the full range of procedures permitted under Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act. This includes performing minor surgeries, administering medical treatments, placing IVs, managing anaesthesia, and leading nurse consults such as second vaccinations, diabetic clinics, parasite control, post-op checks, and more.
You’ll be involved in inpatient care, diagnostics, radiography, dental procedures, client education, and clinical decision-making. We encourage RVNs to mentor students, contribute to protocol development, and pursue further training—whether you’re passionate about ECC, surgical nursing, or consulting.
Enjoy a better work-life balance with our standard 4-day week, though we also offer the flexibility of 3 or 5-day patterns.
Our weekday shifts are scheduled from either 08:00-17:30 or 12:00-21:00. We also maintain a balanced weekend rota, currently 1-in-10, where shifts run from 08:30-16:00, followed by overtime OOH on-call support from 16:00-20:30.
This means you’ll have more time to spend with loved ones, pursue hobbies, or simply relax and recharge.
We also have an amazing dedicated night team to help us provide 24/7 in-house care, so you can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep without worrying about emergency calls**.
We offer a positive, inclusive team culture with flexibility, clinical freedom, and plenty of opportunities to develop. You’ll receive a competitive salary, funded CPD, paid professional fees, pension, private medical insurance, staff benefits, and a healthy work-life balance.
If you’re an RVN looking for a role where you can do what you trained for and feel appreciated doing it, we’d love to hear from you.

** While we have a dedicated night team, we do require contingency cover for those rare occasions when our night RVN is off sick.
To ensure this is managed fairly, if you are working the 12:00-21:00 shift, which typically occurs only once every 2 or 3 weeks, you will be required to provide OOH overnight provision. To support your rest and preparation, your scheduled day off will always precede a 12:00-21:00 shift. You will, of course, be paid an additional OOH on-call rate for providing this essential cover.
Furthermore, for those who live more than 30 minutes away from our Broughty Ferry practice, we are also able to provide accommodation. This ensures you are close at hand in case of a call-out and helps make your shift as stress-free as possible during these periods.
