About Us
We are a longstanding family business established originally in 1895. Starting out as a purveyor of drapery, our range has expanded down the years to now encompass everything you would expect from a modern DIY & Hardware store. Now part of the Independent Co-operative group of Mica retailers and with two stores (in Redditch & Alcester) we are local Flogas stockists, with both stores stocking excellent ranges of DIY, decorating, ironmongery & garden products.
The Role
Duties include but not limited to:
- Operating the till using the EPOS system and handling payments.
- Stocking the shelves as needed without instruction.
- Tidying the store.
- Engaging with customers and helping with queries.
- Answering the telephone.
- Maintaining tidy displays.
- Receiving deliveries and moving stock.
- Lifting and general manual handling.
The Role will be at our REDDITCH branch
The hours are 8:30am-5:30pm, three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please only apply if you are free weekdays and are available for the full hours. Additional hours available so flexibility is desirable.
Person specification
To be part of the team at Morris Mica you should have the following:
- Clear and confident communication skills with customers and fellow team members.
- An interest in Gardening/DIY/Homewares is desired but not essential
- A willingness to learn and take on responsibilities
- Telephone communication skills
- An enthusiastic and customer-focused attitude.
- Comfortable with physical tasks and manual work.
- Previous retail experience is an advantage but training will be provided.
- Initiative and self motivation.
Additional hours may be available which may include Saturday.
Pay will be flexible dependent on the applicant.

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
