Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and qualified Ultrasound Sonographers to support our expanding NHS insourcing service across two well‑equipped community locations. The role involves delivering a high‑quality, patient‑centred ultrasound service with a 50/50 split between Gynaecology and General Ultrasound (Abdo/Renal/Testes).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in line with professional standards
- Manage a balanced caseload including Gynae, Abdominal, Renal, and Testicular scans
- Ensure accurate, timely report writing and image documentation
- Provide excellent patient care, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety
- Adhere to clinic and professional guidelines including infection control and GDPR compliance
- Work effectively as part of an insourcing team, maintaining communication and workflow
- Contribute to reducing waiting lists while maintaining clinical excellence
Equipment Provided
You will have access to full‑size diagnostic ultrasound systems including:
- Rodney Road: GE Logiq E10 (with full probe suite)
- Oak Park: Samsung R20 (with full probe suite)
All equipment is maintained to high standards to support accurate and efficient scanning.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- MSc, DMU, or Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Medical Ultrasound from a CASE‑accredited provider
- HCPC or RCT registration
- Minimum 5 years’ post‑qualification experience
- Proven competency in Gynae and General Ultrasound (Abdo/Renal/Testes)
- Own professional indemnity insurance
- Up‑to‑date CPD portfolio
- Current professional membership (e.g., BMUS)
- Ability to work independently and safely within a community clinical setting
Desirable Skills
- Strong communication and patient‑care skills
- Experience working in insourcing or community diagnostic environments
- Flexible approach to working patterns (evenings/weekends)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: £500.00 per day
Expected hours: 9 – 37.5 per week
