About Romac Logistics:
As part of Romac Logistics’ continued growth and investment, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to join the business on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a senior leadership role with national accountability across chilled warehousing and transport operations, with a particular emphasis on our Chesterfield RDC — Romac Logistics newest and largest strategic investment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operational excellence, supporting business growth and ensuring best-in-class service for our customer.
The role requires a strong visible presence at our new Chesterfield RDC, alongside effective leadership and governance across the wider RDC network. The position holds full accountability for operational performance, financial delivery, safety, compliance, and customer outcomes within chilled distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the performance, development and optimisation of the Chesterfield RDC as the flagship site within the network
Provide visible senior leadership across chilled distribution operations, with a primary focus on the mobilisation and development of our Chesterfield RDC
Ensure efficient, safe and compliant warehouse and transport operations across all chilled sites
Drive operational excellence through standardisation, KPI management and continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee and align performance across all national chilled RDCs
Hold full P&L accountability for chilled warehousing and transport operations
Manage operational costs, labour efficiency and asset utilisation to deliver strong financial performance
Support and drive growth across both warehousing and transport operations, including scaling existing business and implementing additional volume
Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure consistently high service delivery and communication standards
Ensure full compliance with all UK transport, HSE and food safety regulations
Lead safety and compliance initiatives, driving a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Develop and lead high-performing operational teams across multiple locations

Chesterfield RDC performance as a benchmark site
Growth in warehousing and transport operations
Chilled distribution P&L performance
Cost efficiency and productivity improvements
Legal, safety and compliance performance across all sites

Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a senior logistics or distribution leadership role, ideally within chilled or temperature-controlled environments
Strong track record of managing large-scale warehousing and transport operations
Demonstrable experience delivering operational excellence and business growth
Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance
In-depth knowledge of UK transport legislation, HSE and compliance standards
Ability to lead, influence and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations
