Location: Unit 1, Sandgate Industrial Estate, 57 Sandgate Street, Southwark, SE15 1LE
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: 36 hours per week
Pay Rate: PAYE: £15.88 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain lawns, hedges, flower beds, and communal green spaces on council estates
- Carry out litter picking and remove waste from outdoor areas
- Keep pathways, entrances, and shared spaces clean, safe, and free from hazards
- Complete seasonal work such as leaf clearance, snow removal, and gritting
- Report issues such as fly-tipping, vandalism, or safety hazards to the council
- Operate and take care of grounds maintenance tools and equipment (e.g., mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers)
- Work respectfully with residents and maintain high service standards
Requirements:
- Must hold a full driving licence and be able to drive a 3.5 tonne van
- Trailer experience is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping
- Basic knowledge of horticulture
- Awareness of health and safety in public outdoor environments
- Able to use and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication skills and a positive, community-focused attitude
