Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will help create safe, durable, and aesthetically pleasing surfaces that meet project specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper flooring installation.
- Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and carpet with precision and care.
- Follow detailed project plans and schematics to ensure correct placement and alignment of flooring materials.
- Use construction painting techniques to finish edges or transitions smoothly where necessary.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or related trades.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, trowels, and measuring tapes.
- Strong carpentry skills with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques for finishing touches or surface prep.
- Experience working with power tools including saws, drills, sanders, and grinders.
- Ability to interpret project plans accurately and follow detailed instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety standards.
