Position: Retail Assistant
Location: Vale of Rheidol Railway, Aberystwyth
Hours: Part Time, Seasonal, Flexible
Salary: £14.24/Hr (Includes Holiday Pay)

The Vale of Rheidol Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway nestled in the stunning scenery of Mid Wales. With over a century of heritage, we welcome visitors from around the world to experience our timeless charm. Alongside our renowned railway journeys, our gift shop and mail-order sales are an integral part of our customer experience. We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Duties:
Assist with the day-to-day operation of the gift shop, including serving customers, selling tickets, restocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring visitors have a memorable shopping experience.
Handle cash, card payments, and transactions accurately.
Person Specification:
Customer-focused: A friendly and approachable demeanor with strong communication skills.
Organised and reliable: Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and manage time effectively.
Tech-savvy: Familiarity with office software.
Team player: Willing to support colleagues across different areas of the business.
Flexible: Open to working weekends and public holidays as required.
Driving Licence: Full UK Drivers Licence with own vehicle for work at either Aberystwyth or Devil's Bridge Stations as required
