Based at Humberside Police Headquarters, with occasional duties at Bishop Burton College
Are you passionate about helping young people with additional needs build confidence, develop workplace skills and achieve their employment goals?
We are looking for a positive, resilient and enthusiastic Job Coach to support young adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and complex needs as they make the transition from education into employment.
You may currently be working as a Job Coach, Learning Support Assistant, SEND Practitioner, Employment Adviser or in a similar education or social care role. You will have experience supporting young people with SEND and understand how to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
Working as part of the DFN Project SEARCH programme at Humberside Police Headquarters, you will provide individual training and practical workplace support to interns. You will help them develop new skills, identify reasonable adjustments and assistive technology, build natural support networks and work towards meaningful, paid employment.
You will create and maintain individual learning plans, monitor attendance and progress, and work closely with interns, families, employers and programme partners to overcome barriers. Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills are therefore essential.
At Bishop Burton College, you will join a welcoming and collaborative Student Support team committed to creating inclusive opportunities for young people. Through our partnership with DFN Project SEARCH and Humberside Police, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference by helping interns recognise their talents, raise their aspirations and take their first steps towards a successful career.
