About Us
We're the software arm of a national business advisory and financial services group, building a multi-product SaaS platform serving B2B customers across the UK — you will be working on enterprise-grade Fintech products covering risk management, business intelligence and analytics, client relationship management, and people analytics, in addition to aiding in the creation of AI tooling and software for internal use to help drive the business forward.
While the main focus of the role is on the technical aspects of delivery, our team also plays a central role in shaping the products that we make. Much of what we build originates as ideas from within the engineering team, alongside work driven by the wider business, and engineers are involved in design from the outset rather than simply working to tickets written by somebody else. We want people with bright ideas, who want to have an impact and make truly world class software products.
We're an agent-native engineering team who work by directing frontier AI agents through an in-house delivery pipeline built on adversarial review and automated verification, then reviewing the results by hand rather than writing everything ourselves from scratch. This is not a “vibe coding” role, and we'll want you to actively develop your understanding of the code you are producing. We'll provide the support to help you on that journey.
You'll also be working on cutting-edge AI automation workflows for use across the wider business and, in time, for external customers in regulated sectors such as financial services and law — one of the fastest-growing and most commercially valuable specialisms in software.
We understand that to be a world class organisation, we must embrace uniqueness and choose courage over comfort. Everything we strive to be is grounded in our core values: Personable, Integrity, Holistic, Innovative and Deliver Beyond Expectation.
The Role
- Take ownership of whole production features end-to-end and deliver them across the stack.
- Learn to direct software rather than type out code: decompose problems, write precise specifications, review AI-written code in depth, and design the verification that proves it works.
- Work with an AI tooling budget most firms reserve for their most senior engineers.
- Learn directly from the engineers who designed the platform and engineered the AI workflows.
The stack
TypeScript end-to-end · Next.js + React 19 · NestJS microservices · PostgreSQL · Docker · Azure · frontier AI coding agents
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- An eye for what separates great software from average software and the willingness to speak up when you have a good idea.
- A strong academic or practical grounding in Computer Science or a STEM discipline (a 2:1 or above is a good guide), or equivalent evidence of ability — a placement year, a bootcamp, or self-taught work you can show us.
- Practical experience building with AI coding tools — Claude, Copilot, Cursor or similar — plus something you’ve built that you can walk us through line by line.
- A big-picture understanding of the major moving parts of a modern software product — e.g. frontend, backend, API layer, database, testing suite — and how it all fits together.
- A good engineering mindset and the ability to reason clearly about trade-offs, as well as explain your thinking.
- Ability to read and understand JavaScript — experience with React, Next.js and NestJS a plus.
- Organised, efficient and a genuine interest and willingness to make a positive contribution
- Flexible and proactive approach to work and the ability to work under pressure
