Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Technician (qualified or trainee) or Accuracy Checking Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records. Duties
- Dispensing /Checking of prescriptions in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines and expectations
- Manage medication inventory, including stock checks and reordering as necessary
- Provide support with patient care activities, including answering queries related to medication usage and side effects
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication records, prescriptions, and patient information
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment
- Support in the training of new staff as required
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and confidentiality at all times
Skills
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or Accuracy Checking Dispenser or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication and patient care procedures
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record keeping and medication handling
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations within pharmaceutical practice
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy pharmacy
