The Role
We're looking for a Roofing Surveyor with commercial awareness to survey, scope, and win work across our roofing maintenance and refurbishment portfolio — commercial flat roofing, gutter lining, cut edge corrosion protection, asbestos encapsulation, and roof coatings. You'll take the lead on converting inbound enquiries into signed contracts, while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities from existing client relationships and site visits. This is a genuine hybrid role: strong technical roofing knowledge combined with the commercial instinct to quote accurately, close the sale, and spot follow-on work.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend site to survey and scope commercial roofing projects, including flat roof coatings, gutter lining, cut edge protection, and asbestos encapsulation works
- Produce accurate quotations and technical specifications from survey findings
- Convert inbound leads and enquiries into signed contracts
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including upsell and follow-on work from existing clients
- Build and maintain relationships with commercial clients, facilities managers, and specifiers
- Liaise with product manufacturers/suppliers on system specification where required
- Carry out asbestos-aware surveys in line with current regulations, working alongside licensed contractors where encapsulation work requires it
- Hand over won contracts to the operations/contracts team with a clear scope and specification
- Monitor market activity and competitor pricing to keep quotations competitive
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience surveying or estimating commercial roofing works — flat roofing, gutter lining, cut edge protection, coatings, or asbestos encapsulation
- Comfortable working at height and carrying out site surveys in a range of conditions
- Confident, personable, and capable of closing a sale — previous sales or business development experience is an advantage but not essential if the technical knowledge is strong
- Understanding of asbestos regulations and safe systems of work (training can be provided)
- Commercially minded — able to price accurately and protect margin
- Full UK driving licence
Pay: £60,000.00-£63,000.00 per year
