Overview
The Finance and Fundraising Assistant plays a key role in supporting the financial sustainability of the charity. Working across both finance and fundraising functions, the postholder will provide efficient financial administration, support fundraising activities and help ensure that income is accurately recorded and effectively managed.
This role contributes directly to our ability to deliver high-quality employment and supported employment services for disabled and neurodivergent adults.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain financial records and supporting documentation as required.
- Process cash receipts, donations & record accordingly
- Assist with payroll administration where appropriate.
- Process donations and Gift Aid/GASDS claims where applicable.
- Assist with credit control.
- Assist in providing financial information for audits and funders.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
- Filing, shredding & archiving
- Undertake other duties, appropriate to the role, as requested by Line Manager(s)
Fundraising
- Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records.
- Support the preparation of funding applications and grant submissions.
- Assist with monitoring grant income and reporting deadlines.
- Research prospective trusts, foundations, corporate partners, and community funding opportunities.
- Coordinate donor acknowledgements.
- Support fundraising campaigns, community events, and promotional activities on an ad hoc basis
- Assist in producing fundraising reports and impact information.
General
- Support colleagues across the organization when required.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable
- Experience working within the charity or voluntary sector.
- Knowledge of SAGE accounting software or similar
- Experience supporting fundraising or grant applications.
