Job Description:
Relief/Shunter driver is required to ensure all lorries are driven safely into the loading bays within the Avon Site and to provide cover for our delivery drivers during holidays. Driver responsibilities include transporting material between Avon and our customers, shunting, loading and unloading. Ensuring all material is delivered safely by following the correct safety guidelines. This work can be if a mental physical nature and involves driving all year in different weather conditions. We expect all driving to be maintained to the highest safety standard and any incident or accidents reported to a manager. The objective is to increase efficiency, profitibility and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Transport material to the customer in a timely manner
- Ensure all vehicles are moved to their assigned bays as required
- Assisting the warehouse team so we can achieve 100% customer satisfaction
- Loading and unloading of material
- Always follow the safe working practices when carrying out any movement of lorries
- Report any accidents or incidents that may occur on shift and assist with any inquiries regarding any accident
- To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed withing the company
- To ensure all lorries are operated in line with the published SOP (standards operating procedures)
- Conduct 'Before Use Checks' and report all faults to the maintenance department
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line manager
- Class 2 licence
