Trainee Estate Agent
Liverpool | Full-time, permanent | Immediate start available
A practical route into Liverpool’s property sector
This role is for someone who wants to enter the property industry, build useful commercial skills and work towards a clear next step. No estate agency experience is required. You will be trained in property sales, customer communication, negotiation and the foundations of property management while gaining experience in a working Liverpool estate agency.
The business wants to invest in someone who can develop over the long term. Training usually takes around 12 months, with responsibilities increasing as your knowledge and confidence improve. Once you have completed the company’s training and demonstrated the required competence, you will move into a fully trained Estate Agent position with an improved salary and benefits package.
Whether you are a recent graduate, starting your first career or moving from retail, hospitality, sales or customer service, this could provide a strong entry point into the property sector.
What your training will involve
The first few months will be about understanding how estate agency works in practice. You will support experienced colleagues, learn how property enquiries are handled and become familiar with the needs of buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.
Rather than being expected to manage complicated transactions immediately, you will gradually build experience across:
- Responding to new property enquiries and speaking with prospective customers
- Establishing what buyers, sellers, landlords or tenants are looking for
- Property viewing arrangements, confirmations and follow-up conversations
- Maintaining regular contact with customers as enquiries progress
- Accurate updates to property listings and customer information
- Learning how offers are presented, communicated and negotiated
- Developing practical sales and objection-handling techniques
- Keeping organised records of conversations, appointments and agreed actions
- Researching property activity across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area
- Supporting individual and team performance targets
- Learning the basics of lettings, property management and the wider sales process
You will receive sales training and ongoing feedback as you develop. Over time, you will handle more customer contact and greater responsibility, provided you are meeting the required standards.
What you will receive
The starting package includes:
- £26,500 annual basic salary
- Quarterly performance bonuses
- Up to £10,000 in total bonus payments per year
- Full role-specific training
- Permanent employment with a five-day working week
Bonuses are linked to performance and the maximum amount is not guaranteed.
After successfully completing the training and demonstrating the required level of competence, your basic salary will increase to £32,000. You will also receive:
- The same quarterly bonus structure, with up to £10,000 available annually
- A company car
- Additional paid annual leave
The salary increase and additional benefits apply after successful completion of the company’s training. Progress is based on ability and performance rather than automatically taking place after a set date.
The type of person we are looking for
You do not need a property background, but you should have a genuine interest in learning about estate agency, property sales and property management.
This position is likely to suit someone who is:
- Naturally competitive and motivated by clear results
- Confident starting conversations with different types of customers
- Resilient when facing objections or unsuccessful negotiations
- Organised with appointments, enquiries and follow-up activity
- Willing to listen, learn and apply feedback
- Comfortable working towards individual and shared targets
- Interested in building a lasting career within property
There will be demanding days. Some customers will need several follow-ups, negotiations will not always succeed, and performance will be measured. Consistency and a professional attitude will matter just as much as confidence.
Your five-day rota
The workplace operates during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Saturday: 10:00am to 4:00pm
You will work five days each week, arranged across Monday to Saturday. If you are scheduled to work on Saturday, you will have a weekday off.
This is not a six-day working week.
The position is based on site. Applicants must be able to travel reliably into Liverpool, meet the full rota and have the right to work in the UK.
Where this experience could take you
The skills developed can support future career routes in estate agency, lettings, valuations, business development, property management or property investment. These are possible directions rather than guaranteed placements.
There may also be longer-term scope to work towards a Property Manager position within the business. This will depend on sustained performance, capability and future business requirements.
