Location: Tyn-y-Coed Hotel, Capel Curig Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Accommodation: Available
We are on the look out for a talented, passionate Head Chef to join our team at the iconic Tyn-y-Coed Hotel in Capel Curig. You will be preparing and cooking amazing local ingredients in a stunning local pub set in the heart of Eryri/Snowdonia a chef's dream!
As the Hotel Head Chef, you will report to the Hotel General Manager with complete responsibility for all aspects of food production from sourcing suppliers to delivering customer excellence in the finished dish. Along with the development planned for the Hotel, there are great opportunities to develop the food standards and offering, you can really make a difference here, aspiring to exceed guest expectations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for all operational aspects of the Kitchen and its success, including delivering beautiful, appealing meals on time, to high standards of taste and presentation—from breakfasts through to lunches, main meals, snacks, afternoon teas, weddings, and events.
- Leading, managing, and developing the kitchen team.
- Creating and implementing new menus.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and other regulations and rules as set out by the business.
- Supporting the Hotel Manager with the management of the Kitchen Department, including events, budgets, rotas, and performance management.
- Supporting with ordering stock, managing deliveries of produce, food, equipment, and audits.
- Overseeing the development of new dishes and menus.
- Ensuring all cleaning in the designated areas and checks are carried out to Company Standards.
- Organising and labelling the kitchen and its storage.
What will I need to be considered for this role?
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- High standards of food hygiene.
- Experience as a Head Chef with a minimum of 2 years’ evidence of running a successful kitchen.
