We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer to join our team as Kitchen Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the companion cook, supporting meal preparation and kitchen operations.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and safety standards
- Help with cleaning, organising, and maintaining the kitchen area to ensure hygiene compliance
- Serve meals to companions in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Follow all food safety procedures and health regulations diligently
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is not essential
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and companions
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to volunteering regularly
This role provides valuable hands-on experience in food service operations within a supportive environment.
